That’s why lessons with me are so much more than a weekly meeting.
In lessons we lay a solid technical foundation through a combination of scales, exercises, and etudes. We build musicianship skills and effective practice habits through studying great pieces, from solo Bach to the famous violin concerti.
Beyond lessons, I offer a monthly studio class on select Thursday evenings for students to perform for each other and receive feedback. Multiple studio recitals per year provide even more opportunities to hone performance skills, and I coach the most advanced students to prepare an annual solo or joint recital.
We set goals and timelines to achieve those goals. With knowledge of the professional world, I can advise students and parents on their career choice and provide step-by-step counsel on the path to college in music.
I believe excellence empowers. Through violin lessons with me, l invite students to pursue excellence in violin-playing and see how it transforms their lives.

For my advanced students, that means taking their skills farther, auditioning for local youth orchestras, and preparing for a career in music. For the violinist serious about developing technique and pursuing ambitious goals, standard weekly violin lessons aren’t enough.
